Many times when we suffer persecution for our faith we are tempted to defend ourselves and our reputation with our words, actions, or even through legal counsel, but we learn through this teaching that is the last thing the disciples did when they were facing persecution and threats from the very one whose hands were still dripping with the guilt from killing the Son of God; Jesus. In times of persecution and threat, they prayed for God to do more of what He had just done that brought persecution in their lives. You could say they prayed, God, Crank it up a Notch because they prayed for boldness to do more of what stirred up their enemies, or really the enemies of God. Be encouraged as your faith is strengthened hearing about their journey, but also their empowerment that came from the Lord has He shook the very place they were in and filled everyone with the Holy Spirit enabling them to speak the Word of God with boldness.
